The future of 475 jobs is in doubt at the Lufthansa Technik Airmotive after workers voted to reject the company's cost-cutting proposals.
Workers rejected the proposals despite a warning that the company could close.
Members of SIPTU, the TEEU and UNITE rejected the proposals from management by 39 votes this evening.
The company had said it needed to introduce new work practices including the reduction of shift pay and a flexible arrangement that would allow workers to be sent home when sufficient work was not available.
The company is to hold an emergency meeting with the parent company Lufthansa, which is based in Hamburg tomorrow.
