Online payments company PayPal has announced it is setting up a new European centre of excellence in Dublin, which will create 35 jobs.
The company already employs 900 people at its centre in Ballycoolin in west Dublin.
The €15m investment has been supported by the IDA.
PayPal President Scott Thompson said the 35 new positions are highly skilled jobs.
He said the company's investment in Dublin over the last six years had worked out extraordinarily well and investing more money seemed the natural thing to do.
Mr Thompson said PayPal's business is growing despite the global downturn and he expects that business to continue to grow.
IDA Chief Executive Barry O'Leary has said the negative publicity about Ireland's financial position is not affecting foreign direct investment.
Speaking at the announcement by PayPal, Mr O'Leary said it is important to remember there is still foreign direct investment going on and more announcements can be expected in the coming weeks.
He said Ireland will continue to punch above its weight when it comes to attracting such investment.
