The N2 Dublin/Monaghan road in Slane Village, Co Meath, has reopened following a serious road accident.
A total of six people, including a baby, were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment for minor injuries following the accident.
Gardaí say it was a miracle that nobody was injured.
It appears a large articulated lorry coming down from the Collon side lost its brakes and gears.
It hit the rear of a smaller lorry and tried to use that as a brake.
Six cars were damaged during the crash, most of them severely.

Elsewhere, two people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Co Kildare.

One of the cars is understood to have caught fire.
Gardaí say two people have been taken to Naas General Hospital but neither has serious injuries.
The road has since reopened and there are no problems in the area.
