Roscommon Circuit Court - Sitting adjourned

The death of Circuit Court judge Miriam Reynolds has been announced.

Judge Reynolds became unwell during a trial at the Circuit Court in Tullamore, Co Offaly, two weeks ago and passed away this morning.

She had been ill for some time.

Judge Reynolds presided over a high-profile case in January in which a Roscommon woman was convicted on incest charges.

This morning’s sitting of the circuit court in Roscommon was adjourned as a mark of respect.

Judge Reynolds was married to Frank Buckley and had two sons, Darragh and Cillian.

She is also survived by her four brothers.

Judge Reynolds was appointed a judge of the circuit court in 2002.

Her funeral will take place next Tuesday 24 March, at the Church of St Thérèse, Mount Merrion, at 10am.
