The houses damaged by a gas explosion in Blackrock village in south Dublin have been secured by council and construction workers.
It is believed a gas leak may have been the cause of the blast at the house on St Anne's Square yesterday.
Five people were injured and up to four homes may have to be demolished for safety reasons.
A large part of the roof and the chimney of the damaged house has been knocked.
Engineers from Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Council have shored up the buildings to make them safe, ahead of demolition works to clear the site.
The Council has said it plans to rebuild the terrace of Victorian houses.
