Almost two thirds of voters who have made up their minds say they would support the Lisbon Treaty in a second referendum, according to a poll in tomorrow's Irish Independent.
The Millward Brown/IMS poll shows that 63% of decided voters would vote yes, compared to 37% who would vote no.
Including the undecideds, the figures are 46% yes, 27% no, and 27% undecided, don't know, or won't vote.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Michael Martin has said since Ireland's No vote, Irish embassy staff spend a lot of time convincing people that we are not pulling out of the EU.
Minister Martin was speaking at an Ard Fheis session on Ireland and the EU.
He said that during his recent visit to Mexico he was asked a lot of questions about Ireland’s role in the EU after the vote.
Professor Brigid Laffan who also addressed the meeting said journalists should apply ‘fact filters" when interviewing campaigners to ensure no inaccurate facts are published.
She said that media coverage of political parties in referendums should be proportionate to their electoral support, while coverage of other groups should be divided equally.
