Gardaí and members of the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team have begun a search of the McGillycuddy Reeks in Killarney for a man in his 40s who camped on the reeks overnight last night but failed to meet friends there today.
The man, who's Irish but not from the area, hasn't responded to calls to his mobile phone during the day.
He was due to meet his friends at lunchtime. Weather conditions in the area are poor at the monent.
Gardaí are appealing to walkers and climbers who were on the McGillycuddy Reeks today and who may have seen a man walking alone to contact Killarney Garda Station.
