The Irish Government has approved an airlift of emergency relief supplies for the victims of the cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe.
The airlift, comprised mainly of water and sanitation supplies, will take place in the next few days.
More than 1,000 people have died in Zimbabwe as a result of cholera infection.
The consignment includes jerry cans, buckets, soap, oral re-hydration salts and water purification tablets supplies to reach 30,000 Zimbabwean families.
Minister of State for Overseas Development Peter Power said the delivery would meet a 'specific request from the Irish NGO, Goal' responding to the outbreak of the disease in Zimbabwe.
The airlift is bound for Harare.
