A search of Lough Derg and Kincora Woods in Killaloe, Co Clare has been carried out.
The Shannon based helicopter, two ground rescue teams and a boat from the Killaloe coastguard unit searched the area this morning and no one was found.
The search began around 4am this morning following reports that a woman's voice could be heard shouting for help.
Gardaí in Killaloe are now conducting door-to-door inquiries to establish if anyone has been reported missing.
