Dublin Airport - Negotiations to save 150 Aviance jobs

Negotiations are under way in a bid to save 150 jobs at the aviation ground handling firm Aviance.

Yesterday, the company announced that it would be ceasing operations at Dublin Airport next March and that its 150 employees would be made redundant.

However, it is understood that SIPTU has put forward a survival package aimed at keeping the Dublin operation going.

Details of the package have not yet been revealed, though it is expected to include significant reforms in work practices.

Aviance employees will ballot on the proposals at 4pm.
