The European Court of Human Rights has postponed a decision on whether or not it will hear the case of Pamela Izevbekhai 'until further notice'.
The court was to give a decision yesterday on whether it would list Ms Izevbekhai's case for hearing.
It had asked the Government to put a stay on the deportation orders hanging over her and her two daughters until after it had made its decision.
Ms Izevbekhai's solicitor Gabriel Toolan was informed yesterday evening that the decision has been postponed.
Ms Izevbekhai began a legal battle in 2005 to stay in Ireland because she fears her daughters would be subjected to female genital mutilation by her husband's family if they return to Nigeria.
