The rebel leader in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Laurent Nkunda, has threatened to walk away from today's peace talks in Kenya if other groups are included.
A rebel spokesman said they were going to Nairobi to hold discussions with the government outside of the UN-sponsored peace process involving all armed groups in the region.
The pro-government Mai-Mai militia has threatened to withdraw from the peace process altogether if General Nkunda's rebels are granted separate talks with the government.
Congo's government yesterday invited about 20 armed groups to participate in talks with Tutsi rebels to end fighting in the war-ravaged North Kivu province.
