It has been confirmed that the Flextronics company based at Raheen in Limerick is seeking 118 redundancies.
The job layoffs were confirmed to workers this weekend following a meeting with SIPTU.
The company had signalled two weeks ago that it was seeking to make around 100 of its 290 workers redundant because it was embarking on a restructuring programme brought on by the global economic downturn.
It is involved in logistic and warehousing services for the technology sector, and is a sub supplier of the Dell computer plant
A SIPTU spokesperson said that although the job losses were regrettable they had helped secure the long term future of the company.
It is understood that 64 of the redundancies will be compulsory, mostly involving short term staff, and 54 are voluntary.
