Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe has told his party's leaders that the power-sharing deal signed with the opposition was a 'humiliation' but there had been no alternative.
Mr Mugabe is expected to discuss the allocation of ministerial posts under the agreement when he meets the prime minister designate, Morgan Tsvangirai.
Mr Mugabe's Zanu-PF has 15 posts in cabinet while the Movement for Democratic Change has 13 posts. A further three posts have been given to a splinter opposition group lead by Arthur Mutambara.
The opposition won a majority in the March elections, ending Mr Mugabe's unrivalled 30-year hold on power.
Mr Tsvangirai boycotted a widely condemned one-man presidential run-off in June.
Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross has begun an operation to distribute almost 400 tonnes of food supplies to thousands of people across Zimbabwe.
Spokesman for the Red Cross Matthew Cochrane said the aid operation will continue for many months.
