Westport in Co Mayo is the tidiest town in Ireland for 2008.
It is the second time the town has won in three years.
The results of the competition were announced this evening in Dublin's Burlington Hotel.
Other towns that garnered national recognition were: Birdhill in Co Tipperary, the tidiest village, Kenmare in Co Kerry, the tidiest small town and Ennis, Co Clare, the tidiest large urban area.
