The Irish Farmers Association has warned that many tillage farms could go out of business unless the weather improves.
Tillage farmers all over the country say this week represents their last chance to take in this year’s harvest.
The IFA estimates that farmers could lose up to €400m worth of grain because crops which are now ripe, cannot be harvested because farm machinery cannot be used on waterlogged farms.
