Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe will attend a regional summit in South Africa this weekend, as power-sharing talks with the opposition resume on the sidelines.
The ruling ZANU-PF party said the talks are going to resume there on the sidelines of the Southern African Development Community summit.
Zimbabwe opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai arrived in Johannesburg earlier today after his travel documents were briefly seized by authorities at Harare airport yesterday.
He is due to address the SADC's politics and defence committee.
The negotiations began last month after Mr Mugabe's unopposed re-election in June that was condemned around the world and boycotted by Movement for Democratic Change leader, Mr Tsvangirai, because of attacks on his supporters.
However, three days of power-sharing talks in Harare this week failed to reach an overall deal.
The discussions were stalled after Mr Tsvangirai said he needed more time to consider a deal agrees by the other participants - President Mugabe and the leader of a smaller breakaway opposition faction, Arthur Mutambara.
