A 21-year-old man who has dual British-Irish citizenship has appeared in court in England charged with offences including the sexual abuse of children.
Patrick Burnell was remanded in custody until 20 August, when he will appear at Norwich Crown Court.
He was flown to Britain after he was arrested in Prague.
Prague's Municipal Court issued the extradition order ten days ago, and yesterday Mr Burnell was flown from the Czech capital to Britain.
He was brought today before magistrates in Norwich - located north east of London - near to where he is understood to have lived before moving to Prague two years ago.
He had been travelling on an Irish passport and staying in a rented apartment in the Czech Republic.
Czech police said Mr Burnell was suspected of offences including the sexual abuse of children, manufacturing and possessing indecent images.
The crimes are alleged to have taken place in Norfolk and Suffolk on dates between 2003 and 2006.
In June, detectives leading an investigation into child sex offences involving young girls requested that a European Arrest Warrant be issued.
Mr Burnell was arrested on 15 July.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Foreign Affairs said consular assistance had been provided to Mr Burnell since his arrest, and would continue to be provided while he remained outside Ireland.
