Taoiseach Brian Cowen is to make his first official visit to the US next month.
Mr Cowen will meet with political and business leaders in New York as well as with members of the Irish community. He will also visit the New York Stock exchange on July 16th.
Mr Cowen is expected to have discussions on the global economic situation, developing links between Ireland and the US as well as the situation of undocumented Irish immigrants.
