A steel structure being added to a bridge on a new railway line in south-eastern China collapsed on killing at least seven people and burying three houses.
The government of Wenzhou, in the booming coastal province of Zhejiang, has sent more than 450 rescuers to the scene to dig through the rubble.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
