Up to 120 jobs are to be created at a meat processing plant in Edenderry, Co Offaly.
Rosderra Irish Meats Group Ltd has announced a major investment that will see the complete rebuilding of a section of the processing plant that was destroyed by fire last August.
It will include the processing, packing and despatching operations.
Rosderra Meats was established by the management team that acquired the Glanbia Meats Division in February.
The new sections of the plant will be completed by November with the immediate creation of 50 to 60 new jobs.
This number will grow to approximately 120 when the plant is running at full capacity.
There are currently 250 staff employed at the plant with the group employing 840 staff in Ireland.
In its first year of operations, Rosderra Meats will slaughter 1.3 million pigs, which represents 50% of the total number of pigs slaughtered in the country.
The company forecasts a turnover of in excess of €200million in its first year.
