Fishermen from Waterford and Wexford are expected to leave for Cork Harbour overnight for a protest due to start at around 6am tomorrow morning.

A number of large trawlers from Kilmore Quay and Dunmore East are expected to join their counterparts from Castletownbere and Kinsale in a protest over the problems facing fishermen.

A spokesperson for some fishermen in Kilmore Quay said tonight that up to 40 boats may take part. They are expected to congregate near Roches Point.

It is not known whether shipping in and out of Cork Harbour will be affected tomorrow.
