Rail services have returned to normal after earlier disruptions.

All trains in and out of Dublin's Heuston Station were delayed after a train broke down in Newbridge Station.

The train has since been cleared and services are running as normal.

Meanwhile, a second train has broken down causing further disruption for passengers.

Passengers on the 5.50pm service from Dublin to Galway were taken off the train after it broke down at Hazelhatch.

They have been transferred onto the Westport line at Newbridge, and will travel by bus from Athlone onwards.

The broken down train is not impeding any rail traffic.
