Cork Harbour - New report finds bodies did not co-operate

A new report has found that the 12 statutory bodies with responsibility for Cork Harbour have not co-operated or consulted with each other on development proposals.

Community and voluntary organisations as well as residential groups in the Cork Harbour area are considering the report.

The 12 statutory bodies include State boards which have responsibility for the harbour.

The report was released at a meeting in Cobh.

Community groups want a better level of representation in future planning of the harbour area. They say the present situation has led to tension and major environmental controversy.
