75 new jobs have been announced for Northern Ireland with the expansion of local company Wombat Financial Software.

The jobs were announced on the first full day of a three-day investment conference in Northern Ireland.

Wombat, which specialises in the development of advanced software solutions for global financial markets, was recently bought by the New York Stock Exchange for around €130m.

The investment will see its workforce grow from 100 to 175 by 2010, at its European software development centre in Belfast.

It is the third investment announcement of the conference.

Last night Bombardier Aerospace announced a €137m investment in its Belfast plant, while earlier CyberSource created 56 software jobs at a new research and development centre in Belfast.
