Minister Martin Cullen has officially opened a recently completed €23m expansion at Glaxo Smith Kline in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
Mr Cullen has also announced a further investment of €30m in the expansion of its existing over-the-counter pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Dungarvan.
This investment will create 50 new high quality jobs over three years in the production of a new anti-smoking product for supply to all markets outside of north America.
GSK Dungarvan Limited manufactures over the counter pharmaceuticals in tablet form for global markets for brands such as Panadol, Coldrex and Solpadeine.
It is the largest employer in Dungarvan town with almost 700 staff.
