A 14-year-old boy has been struck by lightning in Tallaght, Dublin.
The strike happened at around 4.30pm on a green space between Kilclare Gardens and Kilclare Crescent in Tallaght.
It is understood the youth was playing with a very young child when it happened.
The boy, who is from the Kilclare area, was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene before being taken to Tallaght Hospital.
The boy's condition is critical.
