There has been an annual drop of 11% in employment in the construction industry reported for February of this year.
The Central Statistics Office's index of employment in construction was down 11.1% compared with February last year.
The index has been falling since April 2007 and February's drop marked an acceleration from January's 10% decline.
The figures cover building firms with five or more employees.
