A suicide bombing has killed at least 10 people in a crowd at a funeral procession in the Iraqi province of Diyala.
23 people were wounded in the attack, which took place during the funeral of a policeman in the town of al-Sadiyah, northeast of Baquba.
The US military said earlier that a roadside bomb attack killed an airman in central Baghdad yesterday.
The man was on a patrol when the attack occurred at about noon (10.00am Irish time).
Meanwhile, Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr has called for 1m Iraqis to march against the US occupation of Iraq next week.
The government says it will not attempt to block the march in the holy Shia city of Najaf if it stays peaceful.
The demonstration, called for the fifth anniversary of the fall of Baghdad on Wednesday, raises the prospect of unrest coinciding with a politically sensitive progress report to US Congress by the top US officials in Iraq.
Mr Sadr has a significant number of followers and was able to summon tens of thousands of people on to the streets in Baghdad for demonstrations during last week's fighting.
The violence exposed a deep rift within Iraq's majority Shia community and served as a reminder of the instability after months of security improvements.
Hundreds died, making March the deadliest month for Iraqi civilians since August 2007, according to Iraqi government figures.
