An independent inquiry into the deaths of a family of four in Monageer in Co Wexford has been granted a three month extension by the Cabinet.
The extension was granted on the advice of the Minister for Children.
The report was due this month, but the inquiry team request extra time to facilitate their investigation.
The bodies of Adrian Dunne and his wife Ciara and their two children, 5-year-old Leanne and 3-year-old Shania, were found in their home in April last year, three days after the family visited an undertaker to arrange their own funerals.
An independent inquiry, which is closed to the public, was set up to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths and how state services dealt with the family before the tragedy.
The inquiry's report was due to be published on Monday next, but the independent inquiry requested more time to complete it.
A three-month extension was granted at a Cabinet meeting yesterday.
The final report is now due to be published on 7 July.
