Eddie O'Sullivan has resigned as the Ireland rugby coach.
In a statement issued this evening Mr O'Sullivan said he came to the decision at the conclusion of the Six Nations Championship and having given his role as coach much consideration.
He thanked his management team and the players for their commitment and professionalism.
He also thanked the IRFU and the rugby fans for their support.
He wished the Irish rugby team and the IRFU success in the future, and said that he would not be making any further comments on the issue for the foreseeable future.
