A major fire in Waterford city centre has been brought under control.
Approx 50 fire fighters from Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny were battled the blaze, which broke out earlier this evening.
The fire service says it will keep an eye overnight to make sure it does not re-ignite. The fire is believed to have started at a shop on Thomas Street.
Motorists reported thick black smoke and poor visibility along the main quay in the city.
Gardaí have set up diversions and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
