Iarnrod Éireann has warned that there may be some disruption to certain rail services over the weekend due to what it called unofficial action by train drivers.
Iarnrod Éireann spokesperson Barry Kenny said that since 11 February, two trains each day between Monday and Friday - the 6.30 train from Portlaoise to Dublin and the 17.35 train from Dublin to Carlow - have been cancelled due to a dispute over rosters.
Over this weekend, it is expected that buses will replace around half of train services between Tralee and Mallow.
On Sunday, one train from Dublin to Galway and one from Galway to Dublin will also have the service provided by buses.
All other services are expected to run normally, but customers are advised to check the company's website www.irishrail.ie before travelling.
It is understood that direct talks between management and the National Bus and Railworkers' Union and SIPTU earlier this week failed to resolve the dispute.
Conciliation talks will take place on Monday at the Labour Relations Commission in an attempt to settle the row.
