Gardaí say it will be 'some hours' before a fire in Limerick is brought under control.
Several units of the fire brigade are fighting the major blaze at an industrial estate on the outskirts of the city.
The fire broke out shortly after 5pm at a cold storage unit at the Crossagalla Industrial Estate, on the Tipperary Road.
A number of fire units from Limerick city and county, Newport in Co Tipperary, and Co Clare, are at the scene.
It is not yet known what caused the blaze but an investigation will get under way involving the Limerick Chief fire officer and gardaí.
Gardaí are advising people to avoid the area and traffic diversions are in place.
Elsewhere, fire personnel attended a fire at a derelict house at an area known as Rathuard which is beyond Southhill.
There were no casualties.
