The parents of Brian Murphy have again criticised the State Pathologist for comments she made about the likely cause of their son's death.
Mr Murphy died after a fight outside a Dublin nightclub eight years ago.
In remarks made in a documentary broadcast on RTÉ One television last night, Dr Marie Cassidy said alcohol in Mr Murphy's system did contribute to his death.
Speaking on 'Death Duties', Dr Cassidy said she stands by her belief that Mr Murphy died as result of head injuries combined with the effects of alcohol consumption.
Responding, the Murphy family said that the medical evidence accepted by the Coroner’s Court was that the teenager died as a direct result of head injuries.
The family also said that another pathologist concluded that the level of alcohol in Mr Murphy's body did not play a significant part in his death.
A spokeswoman for RTÉ Television said the programme adequately reflected the differing professional opinions regarding the death of Mr Murphy in a fair, objective and balanced treatment.
