At least four people have been killed and 10 others injured in a blast in a northern suburb of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
The explosion targeted a US embassy vehicle but no US personnel were killed in the attack. The Lebanese driver was slightly hurt.
Television pictures showed smoke billowing from the area of the blast rising over the capital.
Lebanon has been rocked by a string of bombings, most of which have targeted prominent anti-Syrian politicians.
Today's blast comes amidst a deep political crisis in Lebanon with rival parties deadlocked over efforts to find a replacement for former pro-Syrian head of state Emile Lahoud, who stood down in November.
