An official report claims that more than 100,000 children are living in poverty in Northern Ireland.

Close to half of them are said to be living in severe poverty, according to a Stormont Assembly committee.

The committee urged Northern Ireland First Minister Rev Ian Paisley and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness to put tackling the crisis at the centre of their programme for government.
