The National Roads Authority has asked drivers to be patient as roadworks continue on the M50.

Speaking on RTÉ Radio's Today with Pat Kenny, the NRA's Director of Communications, Sean O'Neill, - said the authority is trying to replace an entire section of motorway and he apologised for the inconvenience caused to motorists.

He was responding to complaints about road signs on the M50, particularly at the Red Cow junction.

Mr O'Neill said a new layout at the Red Cow Roundabout would be in place by Sunday 13 January.
