Gardaí in Co Longford are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man at his home in Ballymahon this evening.
It is understood the body of the man, who was in his 50s, was discovered at a house near the River Inny on the Athlone Road outside Ballymahon.
Gardaí are at the scene and it is understood that a pathologist will carry out a further examination of the scene and perform a post mortem on the man's body in the morning.
