The United States has expressed concerns about the new deal on climate change agreed at talks in Bali in Indonesia.
The world's governments, including the US, agreed early yesterday to a two-year negotiating process that would seek to finalise a new global climate treaty.
The White House said the process must ensure developing states take their fair share of emission cuts, and that climate change could not be curbed by emission cuts from developed countries alone.
The US argues that developing states had to be differentiated according to the size of their economies and energy use.
Environmental groups and some delegates have also criticised the document as being weak and a missed opportunity.
