Three Palestinians were killed and 35 others, including children, wounded when a grenade exploded during a Gaza funeral.
The funeral, attended by dozens of Fatah supporters, was for a man killed in an Israeli air raid.
Fatah is the moderate Palestinian political party that was routed by the Islamist movement Hamas in Gaza six months ago.
A Hamas police spokesperson said the blast was accidental. Initial reports say the grenade exploded in one of the mourner’s hands.
Nasser Khalil al-Masaari, the man being buried, died on Thursday when an Israeli aircraft fired a missile at the taxi in which he was traveling.
Palestinian officials said an Islamic Jihad fighter was the real target of Thursday’s strike.
