Figures released today show there was a jump in the number of people signing on to the Live Register last month.
The Central Statistics Office said the seasonally adjusted figure rose to 169,700, an increase of 5,000 compared with October.
The Live Register has been on an upward trend this year, but last month's rise was the biggest monthly increase so far.
