The White House has said that President George W Bush will visit the Middle East in January next year.
The announcement comes a week after Mr Bush hosted talks at which Israeli and Palestinian leaders pledged to seek a peace deal before the end of 2008.
Iran will also be a key issue, after new US intelligence said that the country is not actively developing nuclear weapons.
The White House did not confirm Israeli reports that the president would visit Israel during his tour. If he goes there, it would be Mr Bush's first trip to Israel as president.
Meanwhile, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said the report by US intelligence on the Iranian nuclear programme was a 'great victory' for Iran against world powers.
The report said that Iran ended its nuclear weapons programme in 2003.
'You saw the report of the US intelligence. They said clearly that the Iranian people were on the just path,' Ahmadinejad said.
'This report tries to extract America from its impasse but it also is a declaration of victory for the Iranian people against the great power.'
