Prison officers around the country are due to hold three further strikes before Christmas in their dispute over new security arrangements in jails.
The National Executive Council of the Prison Officers Association has rejected a management proposal regarding the row over whether staff are searched before or after they formally clock in for work.
The prison officers held a one-hour nationwide work stoppage last Friday and they will hold three further similar strikes on the 12, 19 and 21 of December.
However, they say they are open to third party intervention if it would resolve the dispute.
