A post mortem was due to take place today on the body of a student who died during a basketball game at the Athlone Institute of Technology.
It is understood the man collapsed suddenly during the game last night.
He is the third student to die in Co Westmeath in such circumstances over the course of the last six months.
A student from Moate Community College died suddenly in September, while a student from the Maris College in Athlone also died unexpectedly at the school recently.
