Quinn Direct has confirmed that it sent personal information to the wrong customers.
The insurance company said a computer error in its mailing system allowed 32 customers to receive an information pack containing personal information of other customers.
A woman who rang RTÉ Radio’s Liveline programme described receiving information relating to other customers along with her house insurance quote.
The information included the persons name, address, telephone number and detailed descriptions of valuables such as jewellery, entertainment equipment and computers normally kept in their houses.
There was also information relating to the likely occupancy of the house.
In a statement Quinn Direct says it is currently contacting the customers affected to apologise for the error and asking them to return the incorrect page.
The company also said it has taken the necessary steps to rectify this error.
