The head of the European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, has said the current weakness of the dollar threatens the company's survival, despite record orders for planes.
The company's chief executive, Tom Enders, said that further radical cost cutting measures were required to counter the impact of the weakening US currency.
Airbus has already acknowledged that its current restructuring plan, which includes the shedding of 10,000 jobs, is insufficient to cope with the slide of the dollar.
