The Aer Lingus Commerical Director, Enda Corneille, has said he is convinced the company has made the right decision to establish a new base in Belfast.
Speaking in the city this afternoon, Mr Corneille predicted the service, including four daily flights to Heathrow, will be profitable during its first year of operation.
He said Aer Lingus anticipates carrying 500,000 passengers on its Belfast routes. He added that the airline will target customers in border areas and elsewhere in the Republic as well as throughout Northern Ireland.
