A 30-year-old man is in a critical condition following a three-car crash in Co Clare early this morning.
The collision happened shortly after 8am this morning on the main Ennis to Kilrush Road near Knockerra Cross.
The man has been transferred from Ennis to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for further treatment.
Four other people were hospitalised following the crash and two are in a serious condition.
