Nine people have been killed and seven others injured following a collision between a truck and a minibus in Russia.

The incident, in the autonomous region of Tatarstan, took place some 130km east of the Tatar capital, Kazan.

Russia has one of Europe's highest mortality rates in road traffic accidents, with more than 30,000 people killed each year.
